Why a real photo can carry AI information
A real camera photo can acquire AI-related provenance after object removal, generative fill, background replacement or another assisted edit. The attached claim can describe one operation; it does not necessarily say that every pixel was generated.
Meta acknowledged that early labels based on industry signals did not always match people’s expectations. It later moved AI information for content detected as only edited with AI into the post menu, while keeping a more visible label for content detected as generated.
