Pinterest uses metadata and visual classifiers
Pinterest says it may add an AI-modified label when metadata following the IPTC standard identifies generation or modification. The platform also says its classifiers can identify possible AI content even when an image has no obvious metadata markers.
Metadata cleanup is therefore useful for prompt privacy, GPS removal and correcting an over-shared export, but it is not a label bypass. Pinterest provides a support appeal path when a Pin was labeled incorrectly.
