Pinterest uses metadata and visual classifiers
Pinterest says it may add an AI-modified label when metadata following the IPTC standard identifies generation or modification. The platform also says its classifiers can identify possible AI content even when an image has no obvious metadata markers.
Cleaning a file can hide a private prompt, remove GPS coordinates or fix an over-shared export. It cannot bypass Pinterest’s own image checks. If a Pin was labelled incorrectly, Pinterest provides an official appeal path.
