X labels are not determined by one metadata field
X says it may label synthetic or manipulated media and can use its own technology or third-party reports to evaluate misleading content. Its EU media-literacy material also describes Made with AI indicators.
ClearTags can remove supported embedded provenance and private export fields from a new copy. It cannot change an existing X label, Community Note, account signal or a decision based on visible manipulation and posting context.
